Christine Ozeir is a Lebanese artist whose work explores memory, loss, belonging, and what it means to come from a country of great beauty and violence.
Raised in Beirut during the 80’s and 90’s, she lived in various global cities and worked in fields as diverse as economics and hospitality, before fully devoting herself to painting.
Her deeply introspective work draws from memories of her upbringing, and the nature and human panorama of Lebanon.
Through repetition, experimentation, and abstraction, she has developed a technique in which paint threads accumulate across the surface, becoming both a visual language and a means to revisit, question, and reconstruct reality.
Her process is deliberately slow and meticulous; a single work can unfold over weeks or months. Within this extended duration, time becomes a medium in itself, replicating the experience of living with unresolved memories, emotions and thoughts.
